A Reimagined U.S. Postal Service is What We Need

Everyday is package delivery day for my wife’s vintage clothing online store. WIth Priority Mail, the USPS reliably delivers merchandise to happy customers safely and on-time.

When I’m not producing future of work-themed podcast episodes and other thought-leadership, I assist my wife with her fast-growing vintage clothing business as the de-facto director of order fulfillment.

Like a lot of small operations, my wife’s business relies on the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) to deliver merchandise — safely and on-time — to happy customers.

The USPS provides best pricing to ship packages across the U.S. And as such, it helps small online stores like ours remain viable.

Yet, the-most important part of order fulfillment relates to the customer’s experience with us:

Did we ship on time? Did the merchandise arrive safely?

My wife’s brand scores high with customers who appreciate the fast arrival of their undamaged parcels. And we have the USPS to thank for that.

The USPS is a federal government-owned corporation that is tasked with mail and package delivery. And, in rural parts of the country, the USPS is what people rely on, almost exclusively, to get paid and receive critical supplies such as…
